AI that works for you - on your terms
There are two ways to use AI with Exacc: Zacc, the assistant we run in Australia, and your own AI app connected to your business files.
Zacc, Exacc's AI assistant
What Zacc does
Zacc is in our live chat - in the web app and on this site. It can help you with:
- How to do things in Exacc, step by step from our help guides
- Troubleshooting - including problems we already know about
- Features, pricing and getting started, if you are new to Exacc
- Refunds, billing and complaints - it passes these to our team as a ticket
- A person from our team, whenever you ask or it can't help
Your data stays in Australia
Zacc is Claude, made by Anthropic, running on Amazon Bedrock in Exacc's own AWS account, in Australian data centres (Sydney and Melbourne).
- Bedrock does not keep your messages or use them to train models
- Anthropic does not receive your chats
- Conversations are stored by Exacc with our support tickets, and deleted two years after the ticket closes
- Once a chat has finished, Zacc can no longer see it - every new chat starts fresh
- The chat recognises your browser (a random id, no personal details) so our team can see your earlier chats - Zacc still starts fresh
- When you ask for a person, your messages and contact details are passed to our support team through our team messaging tool (Slack). Anything Zacc reads from your business file is never sent there.
Your business file - only if you say yes
When you are signed in, Zacc may ask to look at the file you have open - for example to check why an invoice shows as unpaid. You choose Yes or No.
- Read only - Zacc never creates, changes, sends or lodges anything
- That file only, for that chat only
- Your own access: it sees what you can see, nothing more
- Never tax file numbers, bank account numbers or dates of birth
- Its answers about your file stay in Exacc - our team reads them on your ticket, never in Slack
People, not just AI
Press Talk to a person at any time, or Call me back and leave your number. During business hours someone from our team joins the chat; outside them we reply by e-mail. You can also reach us at [email protected] or through the contact form. Zacc can make mistakes, so check anything important - and tell us with the thumbs down when it gets something wrong.
Using Claude, ChatGPT or another AI app
Connect Claude, ChatGPT and other AI apps
The Exacc connector lets your own AI app work in your business files - read reports, find invoices, prepare drafts. It works as a separate AI agent user, never as you, and everything it does is recorded. How to connect
Your app, your provider, your rules
What your AI app reads goes to its provider (for example Anthropic or OpenAI) under your account and their terms, and may be processed outside Australia. Exacc does not control that service.
- You choose each file: Don't allow, Read only or Can edit
- Disconnect at any time in Connected apps
- Exacc never sends tax file numbers or employees' personal details (date of birth, home address, bank and super account details)

Common questions
Does Exacc use my data to train AI?
No. Neither Zacc nor the Exacc connector trains AI models on your data, and Amazon Bedrock, which runs Zacc, does not use it to train models. We do read chats to improve our help guides and how Zacc answers.
Where is my data processed when I chat with Zacc?
In Australia. Zacc runs on Amazon Bedrock in Exacc's own AWS account, in Australian data centres (Sydney and Melbourne). Chats are stored with our support tickets in Exacc.
Can Zacc change my books or send anything?
No. Zacc cannot create, change, send or lodge anything. It explains how to do it in Exacc, step by step, and gets a person from our team when you need one.
Can Zacc see my business file?
Only if you are signed in and you press Yes when it asks. It then reads that one file for that chat, read only, with your own access - it sees what you can see and nothing more. It never sees tax file numbers, bank account numbers or dates of birth.
Does Zacc remember my earlier chats?
No. Conversations are stored by Exacc with our support tickets, so our team can follow up. Once a chat has finished, Zacc can no longer see it - every new chat starts fresh.
Can I use ChatGPT or Claude with Exacc?
Yes. Connect your own AI app to Exacc with the Exacc connector. You choose which business files it can use and whether it may make changes, and you can disconnect it at any time. That app is run by its provider under your account and their terms.
How do I talk to a person?
Press Talk to a person in the chat, or Call me back and leave your phone number - our team is told straight away and calls in business hours. You can also e-mail [email protected] or use the contact form. Outside business hours we'll reply by e-mail.
