Connected apps lists every AI app you connected to Exacc, such as Claude or ChatGPT. For each business file you choose Don't allow, Read only or Can edit, and the same for business files you get later. Changes apply straight away - the app does not need to reconnect. You can also disconnect an app.

In Exacc: Your account › Connected apps

Before you start

  • You have connected an AI app to Exacc - see Connect Exacc to Claude or ChatGPT.

1. Open Connected apps

Sign in to Exacc and open Connected apps. Each AI app you connected is listed with when it was connected and last used. A Verified by Exacc badge means the app is the real Claude or ChatGPT.

2. Choose what the app may do in each business file

Every business file set up for AI apps is listed under the app, each with three choices:

Don't allow - the app cannot see the file at all.

Read only - the app can read what you can see in the file, and change nothing.

Can edit - the app can also make changes: draft bills, invoices and journals, and create or update projects, tasks, notes and tickets. It still can do no more than you can, and no more than the file's administrator allows AI agents to do.

Your choice is saved as soon as you click it.

3. Choose what happens with business files you get later

Under Files I get later, choose what the app may do in business files you are given access to in the future. New connections start with Don't allow, so a new file stays private until you decide.

4. Disconnect an app

Click Disconnect next to the app. It stops working in Exacc at once. To use it again, connect it again from the app. Disconnect all apps removes every connection.

How an AI app works in Exacc

In each business file the app works as an AI agent, a separate user, never as you. Everything it does is recorded, and records it creates show the AI agent as the creator.

Tax file numbers and employees' personal details are never sent to AI apps.

If a business file is not listed

A business file appears only when its administrator has set it up for AI apps and allowed you to connect them. Files that are not available are listed separately with the reason - ask the file's administrator.

Questions

Do I have to reconnect the app after changing a file?
