A company, trust or partnership shares its ANZ data through ANZ Internet Banking for Business. An Administrator sets Data sharing access to Yes for the person who will connect (Settings › Manage users); that person then connects ANZ in Exacc as in Connect your bank (bank feeds). A sole trader with an account in their own name needs no set-up at ANZ.
Before you start
- The business is registered for ANZ Internet Banking for Business, with at least one open account in it. ANZ says non-individual businesses (registered partnerships or corporations) "must have access to ANZ Internet Banking for Business".
- The person who will share (ANZ's Nominated Representative) is an Internet Banking for Business Administrator or Authoriser. Administrators and Authorisers must already be signatories on the accounts.
- The person who connects in Exacc must be the one the bank lets share the data. They need their own Exacc login with access to the business file and an Australian mobile number in their Exacc profile (in the form +614…).
1. Register for Internet Banking for Business (if you have not)
Download, print and complete ANZ's registration form, one per legal entity: business details, ABN/ACN, daily payment limit, the Administrators and Authorisers, the accounts to include and the fee account. New signatories are added first through a branch or your Relationship Manager. All nominated signatories sign the form.
Email it to [email protected] (or fax 1800 304 131). ANZ issues a Customer Registration Number (CRN). Before the first logon, call ANZ's Helpdesk on 1800 269 242 for a temporary password; a user with a Security Device receives it by registered post within 3 to 5 bank business days, and the device itself takes 7 to 10 business days.
2. Give the person Data sharing access (Administrator)
An Administrator signs in to Internet Banking for Business and selects Settings › Manage users, selects the user, selects Edit, sets Data sharing access to Yes, reviews the change and selects Save. An Administrator can do this on their own user record.
3. Then connect in Exacc
Follow Connect your bank (bank feeds): in the business file open Books › Bank Feeds, click Connect a Bank (Connect New Account once the file has connected accounts), search for ANZ (Basiq lists it as "Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited"; ANZ Plus is listed separately) and click Approve on Basiq's page.
At ANZ, authenticate with the one-time password ANZ sends to your mobile (you need a valid mobile number with ANZ). On Select accounts, choose the accounts and select Continue; on Review and confirm, select Confirm data sharing. ANZ returns you to Exacc.
Sole traders
An account in your own name is shared like a personal one: no Nominated Representative is needed, and you can use ordinary ANZ Internet Banking or the ANZ App. ANZ Plus has its own data sharing page.
See or stop sharing at ANZ
Open Profile & Security, then under Manage your data select Data sharing. Select the arrangement, select Stop data sharing, confirm by selecting Stop data sharing again, then Done; the arrangement moves to Archived. Any Nominated Representative can stop an arrangement, including one someone else created. Accounts they cannot access show as "There may be other accounts in this Data Sharing arrangement."
To take the role away, an Administrator follows step 2 and sets Data sharing access to No.
