BOQ appoints a business's nominated representatives by paper form: the Open Banking – Data Sharing Form for Business Entities, returned to a BOQ branch or your Business Banker. Each representative then connects BOQ in Exacc as in Connect your bank (bank feeds) with their own customer ID (CAN) and a mobile code. Sole traders use their personal CAN and need no form.
Before you start
- Each representative is 18 or older, has online banking access to one or more of the business's accounts, is a signatory of the business (the form's wording) and has a registered mobile and email.
- BOQ's form covers one non-individual entity "with no Trusts or Businesses (e.g., trading names) attached". Joint accounts that include a non-individual are not eligible.
- The person who connects in Exacc must be the one the bank lets share the data. They need their own Exacc login with access to the business file and an Australian mobile number in their Exacc profile (in the form +614…).
1. Complete the Data Sharing Form for Business Entities
Enter the business name and CAN, and up to 4 representatives (name, CAN, mobile, email), each marked Add. The form is signed by the person or persons authorised to sign for the entity.
2. Return it to BOQ
Take it to your nearest BOQ branch or Business Banker for validation. BOQ states no processing time. A representative can then share all of the entity's accounts.
3. Then connect in Exacc
Follow Connect your bank (bank feeds): in the business file open Books › Bank Feeds, click Connect a Bank (Connect New Account once the file has connected accounts), search for BOQ (Basiq lists it as "Bank of Queensland Limited"; BOQ Specialist is listed separately) and click Approve on Basiq's page.
At BOQ, enter your CAN or mobile number (pad a CAN shorter than 10 digits with leading zeros), then the one-time password sent to your mobile (it expires after 5 minutes). Choose the accounts, review and confirm.
Sole traders
No representative is needed: use your personal CAN. If your trading name differs from your personal name, you cannot create a consent until BOQ helps (1300 55 72 72 or a branch).
See or stop sharing at BOQ
Use BOQ's Customer Dashboard (log in with your mobile or CAN and an SMS code). To remove a representative, submit the same form marked Remove. BOQ's page says existing arrangements continue after removal, but the form says they are cancelled, so assume they may be cancelled.
BOQ Specialist
BOQ Specialist has its own form, returned to [email protected] (see its Open Banking page below).
