Macquarie appoints a business's nominated representative by paper form only: the CDR Nominated Representative Authority Form, one per representative, emailed to [email protected] and completed within 5 business days. The representative then connects Macquarie in Exacc as in Connect your bank (bank feeds) with their Macquarie ID. Sole traders need no form.

In Exacc: Books › Banking › Bank Feeds

Before you start

  • The representative is 18 or older and has transaction access on every account listed, holding a role on each one (account holder, signatory, power of attorney, office holder such as a director, or trustee).
  • They have Macquarie online/mobile banking access and a Macquarie ID (if not, call Macquarie on 1800 806 310).
  • The person who connects in Exacc must be the one the bank lets share the data. They need their own Exacc login with access to the business file and an Australian mobile number in their Exacc profile (in the form +614…).

1. Complete the CDR Nominated Representative Authority Form

On the form (MBL0023 08/23) tick Appoint, enter the representative's details (section 2) and list the accounts by product and number (section 4). Use one form per representative.

Macquarie accepts original signatures only, not digital signatures:

  • Company or corporate trustee - 2 directors, or a director and the company secretary.
  • Sole-director company - The sole director.
  • Partnership - Any 2 partners.
  • Trust or SMSF with individual trustees - Any 1 trustee.
  • Any entity - An established power of attorney.
  • Joint accounts - Each holder signs.

2. Email the form to Macquarie

Email it to [email protected]. Macquarie completes it within 5 business days.

3. Then connect in Exacc

Follow Connect your bank (bank feeds): in the business file open Books › Bank Feeds, click Connect a Bank (Connect New Account once the file has connected accounts), search for Macquarie (Basiq lists it as "Macquarie Bank Limited" and "Macquarie Bank Limited - Active Banking (Business)") and click Approve on Basiq's page.

At Macquarie, authenticate with your Macquarie ID and the one-time password from Macquarie Authenticator or SMS, then select the accounts and authorise.

Which accounts can be shared

The form's list of eligible accounts (dated 08/23) shows personal-style products, while Macquarie's current help page lists business products (Business At Call, Business Term Deposit, Business Cheque, loans, overdrafts). If an account is refused, check with Macquarie.

Sole traders

No nominated representative is needed: share directly. Secondary users can be added through Account details › CDR secondary sharing › Manage.

See or stop sharing at Macquarie

Log in to Macquarie Business Online, open the profile-icon drop-down and select Security. Under Connected third-party providers, select Manage next to the provider, then Stop sharing and confirm.

To remove a representative, send the same form with Revoke. You can also tick an option to revoke the consents that person created; otherwise they run until they expire. Revoking does not remove their login.

Other banks

The same set-up at other banks (Bankwest, ING and any other bank: see Bankwest, ING and other banks):

We are adding more banks. If you have tips or instructions for linking a business account at another bank, please share them with us through our contact page.
