IMB Bank appoints a business's nominated representatives by paper form: the Business Member CDR Data Sharing Nomination & Cancellation Form, returned to a branch, by email or by post. IMB asks you to allow 2 business days. The representative then connects IMB in Exacc as in Connect your bank (bank feeds) with their member number and an SMS code.
Before you start
- Each representative is over 18, registered for IMB internet banking, has given IMB their mobile number and email address, and is an IMB member (or becomes one). They do not need to be a signatory: IMB says the representative "can be anyone the Business nominates".
- A representative can share data for all eligible accounts the business owns, including accounts they cannot see in their own internet banking. Joint business accounts are not eligible for data sharing.
- The person who connects in Exacc must be the one the bank lets share the data. They need their own Exacc login with access to the business file and an Australian mobile number in their Exacc profile (in the form +614…).
1. Complete the nomination form (Part A)
Fill in the business's IMB member number and full legal name, then list every person the business authorises (name and member number or address). The list replaces all previous nominations, so include anyone already appointed who should stay.
The form is signed by the business's authorised representatives, as IMB's signing instructions say:
- Company - 2 directors, or 1 director and the secretary, or the sole director and secretary.
- Trust - All trustees, or 2 trustees with minutes or written evidence of their authority; for a company trustee, the company rule above.
- Partnership - All partners, or 2 partners with minutes or written evidence.
- Association (incorporated or not) - All office holders, or 2 office holders with minutes or written evidence.
- Sole trader - The proprietor of the business.
2. Return it to IMB
Take it to a branch, email it to [email protected], or post it to Attention Business Banking, IMB Ltd, PO Box 2077, Wollongong NSW 2500. IMB says to allow 2 business days to process it.
3. Then connect in Exacc
Follow Connect your bank (bank feeds): in the business file open Books › Bank Feeds, click Connect a Bank (Connect New Account once the file has connected accounts), search for IMB (Basiq lists it as "IMB Ltd (trading as IMB Bank)") and click Approve on Basiq's page.
At IMB, enter your member number and the one-time password IMB sends by SMS, then choose which accounts to share, for how long and what data. IMB confirms by SMS.
See or stop sharing at IMB
Log in to IMB Internet Banking, open the Home menu, select Data sharing, then Consents: it lists who you share with now and in the past, and you can withdraw a consent there. You can also call IMB on 133 462.
To remove a representative, send the form again without them (the new list replaces the old one). Their existing arrangements carry on until they expire unless the business cancels them in Part B of the same form.
