Newcastle Permanent appoints a business's Nominated Representatives by paper form: the Open Banking business customer – Nominated Representative authority, signed by the business's proprietors or directors and returned by post, email or at a branch. The representative then connects Newcastle Permanent in Exacc as in Connect your bank (bank feeds). Sole traders need no form.
Before you start
- The form is for a partnership (all partners 18 or over), company, association or co-operative, government body or trust.
- Each representative is a Newcastle Permanent customer aged 18 or over and registered for Internet Banking (the form says this is mandatory). They do not have to be a signatory: the authority applies "regardless of whether they are otherwise a signatory or authorised user on the account".
- The person who connects in Exacc must be the one the bank lets share the data. They need their own Exacc login with access to the business file and an Australian mobile number in their Exacc profile (in the form +614…).
1. Complete the Nominated Representative authority
Section 1: the business customer number and business name. Section 2: tick Add Nominated Representative/s. Section 3: up to 2 representatives (customer number, name, mobile, email). The authority covers all open and closed accounts held by the business, not chosen accounts.
Section 4 is signed by the business proprietors or directors (up to 3 signature blocks), who confirm they are authorised to sign for the business.
2. Return it to Newcastle Permanent
Email it to [email protected], post it to Newcastle Permanent, Reply Paid 5001, HUNTER REGION MAIL CENTRE 2310, or take it to any branch. Newcastle Permanent states no processing time.
3. Then connect in Exacc
Follow Connect your bank (bank feeds): in the business file open Books › Bank Feeds, click Connect a Bank (Connect New Account once the file has connected accounts), search for Newcastle Permanent (Basiq lists it as "Newcastle Permanent Building Society") and click Approve on Basiq's page.
Newcastle Permanent does not ask for your internet banking password: it sends you a one-time password, then you choose the accounts to share.
Sole traders
Newcastle Permanent: "As you are an individual (including with a trading name), you can simply use your personal details." No representative is needed.
See or stop sharing at Newcastle Permanent
