People First Bank (formerly Heritage Bank and People's Choice) sets up nominated representatives online: the business representative (the business signatory) enables them in the data sharing dashboard under Settings › Nominated representative. The representative then connects in Exacc as in Connect your bank (bank feeds).

In Exacc: Books › Banking › Bank Feeds

Before you start

  • The person who sets it up is the Business representative (People First calls this the business signatory or business account holder).
  • The nominated representative must meet the bank's eligibility rules for sharing: over 18, at least one account they can reach in online banking, and a valid mobile number.
  • The person who connects in Exacc must be the one the bank lets share the data. They need their own Exacc login with access to the business file and an Australian mobile number in their Exacc profile (in the form +614…).

1. Open the data sharing dashboard

The business representative logs in to the People First Bank App or Online Banking and selects Open Banking (in Digital Banking: the More button, three dots, in the main menu, then Open banking).

2. Enable the nominated representative

In the dashboard's Settings menu select Nominated representative, then enable the person who will share. Disabling them there removes them. The bank states no waiting time.

3. Then connect in Exacc

Follow Connect your bank (bank feeds): in the business file open Books › Bank Feeds, click Connect a Bank (Connect New Account once the file has connected accounts), search for Heritage or People's Choice (Basiq lists it as "Heritage Bank Limited" and "People's Choice Credit Union") and click Approve on Basiq's page.

Since 5 May 2026 the bank asks you to select People First Bank and Heritage when you choose your bank to share from. Choose the accounts and confirm; the bank verifies you with your mobile.

See or stop sharing

In the data sharing dashboard, select manage next to a consent. Business representatives and nominated representatives can switch individual accounts off within a consent, but only the business representative or the nominated representative who created it can withdraw the whole consent. You can also withdraw by Secure Mail in Online Banking, or call 13 11 82.
